PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit where a flexible printed wiring board is thin even after an image pick up device is mounted thereon and achieving a small size, and to provide an endoscope including the imaging unit and a manufacturing method of the imaging unit.SOLUTION: In an imaging unit including an image pickup device and a flexible printed wiring board, the image pickup device includes: a light receiving part a metal wiring layer electrically connecting with the light receiving part a metal pad formed on the metal wiring layer and an opening provided so as to expose the metal pad at the opposite side of the light receiving side. The flexible printed wiring board includes a metal wire electrically connected with the metal pad in the opening and is bonded to a surface located at the opposite side of the light receiving side of the image pickup device by an adhesive.
