PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and compact video camera which is used for a blood vessel image picking-up apparatus.SOLUTION: This video camera 4 includes a housing 41, a circuit board 42 for controlling which is installed in the housing 41, a circuit board 43 for illumination, and an image picking-up sensor 42A. In this case, the circuit board 43 for illumination is installed in the housing 41 by placing a specified gap to the circuit board 42 for controlling. The image picking-up sensor 42A is mounted on one surface of the circuit board 42 for controlling, i.e., the surface facing the circuit board 43 for illumination. On the circuit board 43 for illumination, an opening section is formed at a location facing the image picking-up sensor 42A.
