PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in the operation rate due to the inspection work in a fixed cycle.SOLUTION: A medical image diagnostic apparatus includes holding means, drive means, a first encoder, a second encoder and detection means. The holding means holds an X-ray generation unit and X-ray detector in a rotatable manner around a rotation shaft. The drive means includes a drive motor and power transmission mechanism and rotates the holding means by transmitting the rotational force of the drive motor to the rotation shaft via the power transmission mechanism. The first encoder detects the rotation of the drive motor. The second encoder detects the rotation of the rotation shaft.
