The present invention relates to a method for combating fungal turfgrass pathogens at a turfgrass locus, which comprises applying an effective amount of herein defined fungicides below the ground surface by means of mechanical or pressure methods. The present invention also relates to the use of at least one fungicide as defined herein in a method, which comprises applying an effective amount of herein defined fungicides below the ground surface by means of mechanical or pressure methods.
