In country like India where most of the farmers depend solely on rain to raise only one kharif crop promotion and identification of new crops like Gongura is essential which can provide average yield year after year at virtually no cost of production. Various food supplements as mentioned are prepared worldwide with the help of Gongura. But for the purpose of preparing jams jellies and syrups only fresh petals of the flower are used. But fresh petals are not available though out the year hence there was a long felt need for the promotion of the crop within farmers and in order to increase utility and productivity of the crop to provide a process and methodology for using dried and stored petals of Gongura for development of different products
