An extraction composition produced from licorice (scientific name: Glycyrrhiza), which is characterized by containing glycyrrhetinic acid and a salt thereof (an extraction component (A)) in an amount of 0.5 to 20 wt% relative to the weight of the extract and also containing liquiritigenin and a salt thereof (an extraction component (B)) in an amount of 1.5 to 25 wt% relative to the weight of the extract, wherein the total amount of the extraction component (A) and the extraction component (B) is 2.0 to 45 wt% relative to the weight of the extract. A method for producing a licorice hydrolysis extraction composition, which comprises at least the following two steps: (1) hydrolyzing a licorice plant body to produce a hydrolysis treatment product; and (2) carrying out a solvent extraction treatment of the product produced in the preceding step to produce a solvent extract.
