PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and image processing method, wherein an unclear image-sensing region in an imaging tomographic image is complemented based on three-dimensional volume data.SOLUTION: An image generation section 130 acquires the image of the tomographic surface corresponding to the tomographic image of a subject that an ultrasonic probe captures from the three-dimensional volume data, based on position posture information on the ultrasonic probe. An image composition section 140 generates a synthesized image in which the image of the tomographic surface and the tomographic image are synthesized, and then outputs the generated synthesized image.
