PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for complementing, based on three-dimensional volume data, unclear image sensing region in an imaging tomographic image.SOLUTION: An image generation section 130 acquires the image of the tomographic surface corresponding to the tomographic image of a subject, which an ultrasonic probe 195 images from the three-dimensional volume data, based on position posture information on the ultrasonic probe 195. An image composition section 140 forms and outputs a synthesized image in which the image of the tomographic surface and the tomographic image are synthesized. In the synthesis, the tomographic image and the image of the tomographic surface are synthesized by specifying an area as an unclear image sensing region in the tomographic image and replacing an image within the unclear image sensing region by an image within an area corresponding to the unclear image sensing region in the image of tomographic surface.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】 撮像断層画像中の撮像不明瞭領域を、3次元ボリュームデータに基づいて補完する為の技術を提供すること。【解決手段】 画像生成部130は、超音波プローブ195の位置姿勢情報に基づいて、3次元ボリュームデータから超音波プローブ195が撮像した被検体の断層画像に対応する断層面の像を取得する。画像合成部140は、断層面の像と断層画像とを合成した合成画像を生成し、出力する。係る合成では、断層画像において撮像不明瞭領域としての領域を特定し、撮像不明瞭領域内の画像を、断層面の像において撮像不明瞭領域に対応する領域内の画像で置き換えることで、断層画像と前記断層面の像とを合成する。【選択図】 図1
