The invention relates to a device for the mixing of polymethylmethacrylatebone cementand for storing the starting components of the bone cement, in particular amonomerliquid and a cement powder as starting components of the bone cement, wherebythedevice comprisesa cartridge (1) having an internal space (24) for mixing the bone cement,which is closedon one side by a mobile dispensing plunger (2)；a monomer container (46) for a monomer liquid and/or a connector (20) forattachmentof a monomer container (46) for a monomer liquid, such that the monomercontainer(46) can be opened appropriately in the device such that the monomer liquidflows fromthe monomer container (46) into the device；a connecting conduit (38) through which the monomer liquid can be guided intotheinternal space (24) of the cartridge (1)； wherebya hollow cylinder (12) is connected to the connecting conduit (38) and thehollowcylinder (12) is arranged between the monomer container (46) or the connectorfor themonomer container (46) and the internal space (24) of the cartridge (1),whereby apumping plunger (14) that can be shifted axially in the hollow cylinder (12)is arranged inthe hollow cylinder (12), whereby the monomer liquid can flow from the openedmonomer container (46) into the hollow cylinder (12) and the connectingconduit (38)appropriately connects the hollow cylinder (12) to the internal space (24) ofthe cartridge(1), such that the pumping plunger (14) can be used to push monomer liquidfrom thehollow cylinder (12) through the connecting conduit (38) into the internalspace (24) ofthe cartridge (1) by actuating the pumping plunger (14).The invention also relates to a method for the mixing ofpolymethylmethacrylate bonecement.
