PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for mixing and storing polymethylmethacrylate bone cement.SOLUTION: The device comprises: a cartridge 1 with an internal space for mixing the bone cement； a connector for attachment of a monomer container for a monomer liquid； and a connecting conduit 38 through which the monomer liquid can be guided into the internal space of the cartridge, wherein a hollow cylinder 12 is connected to the connecting conduit, the hollow cylinder is arranged between the monomer container or the connector and the internal space of the cartridge, and a pumping plunger 14 that can be shifted axially in the hollow cylinder is arranged in the hollow cylinder. The monomer liquid can flow from the opened monomer container to the hollow cylinder, and the connecting conduit connects the hollow cylinder suitably to the internal space of the cartridge.
