PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for indicating a patient position, an image orientation or other indicia on a digital radiograph.SOLUTION: A technique is disclosed for placing markers on digital radiographic images, such as projection X-ray and tomosynthesis images. A tag (30, 76) encoding data is disposed on or near a component of a radiographic imaging system, such as on a digital detector (22).
