PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container which can be used as a longitudinal type or a hanging type.SOLUTION: The container includes a container body 1 and a lid 10 fit to the outer surface of a side wall 3 of the container body, wherein the lower end part of a top plate 12 with the opening 17 of the lid 10 is bent to the back side to form a placement plate portion 13, a slit groove 14 is formed on the top plate 12, a frame column portion 15 is formed of a top plate 12 part of the outer side from the slit groove 14 and the placement plate portion 13, a thin hinge 16 is formed on the vertical part of the frame column portion 15, at the same time, engagement means 20 capable of retaining the part of the frame column portion 15 bent to the back side via the thin hinge 16 to a prescribed position is disposed and thereby, the placement plate portion 13 can be located on the back side of a bottom wall 2 of the container body 1.
