PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of calculating an index for determining the necessity of a jawbone surgery in orthodontic treatment and a program therefor, capable of easily calculating an index for determining the necessity of a jawbone surgery as objective information for a dentist to determine whether or not a jawbone surgery is necessary for a patient in orthodontic treatment of the patient, and enabling the dentist to make a more highly objective and accurate diagnosis easily in a short time by appropriately and simultaneously using results of other inspection methods.SOLUTION: By using a distance (S-A) between S and A, a distance (S-B) between S and B and a distance (Go-Me) between Go and Me measured by cephalometric radiography of a patient to calculate P=((S-B)+(Go-Me))/(S-A), an index for determining the necessity of a jawbone surgery in orthodontic treatment is calculated. On the basis of the index for determining the necessity of a jawbone surgery, the necessity of the jawbone surgery is determined.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】患者の歯列矯正治療において歯科医師が患者の顎骨手術が必要であるか否かを判断するための客観的材料となる顎骨手術要否判断指標を簡単に計算することができ、他の検査方法の結果を適宜併用することで歯科医師がより客観性の高い正確な診断を容易にしかも短時間で行うことが可能になる、歯列矯正治療における顎骨手術要否判断指標の計算方法およびそのためのプログラムを提供する。【解決手段】患者の頭部X線撮影により計測された、SとAとの間の距離(S-A)、SとBとの間の距離(S-B)およびGoとMeとの間の距離(Go-Me)を用い、P=((S-B)+(Go-Me))/(S-A)を計算することにより、歯列矯正治療における顎骨手術要否判断指標を計算する。この顎骨手術要否判断指標に基づいて顎骨手術要否判断を行う。【選択図】図1
