A method of cremating a deceased person resting inside a coffin. The coffin comprises a bottom and fixedly mounted side walls. The coffin is provided with a rigid tray provided with attachment means. The tray lies onto the bottom inside the coffin supporting the deceased person. The tray can be lifted from the coffin while supporting the deceased person by using the attachment means for load bearing. The method comprises lifting the tray supporting the deceased person from the coffin by using the attachment means for load bearing, and moving the deceased person into a cremation oven.
