The present invention relates to a gait belt as a walking aid by which, in the procedure of rehabilitation conducted in order to allow a paraplegic children with walking difficulty to acquire a normal walking pattern, a therapist or caretaker positioned at the back of the handicapped child can appropriately perform walking treatment for the handicapped child according to the functional level of the handicapped child after keeping pace with the handicapped child and also matching the walking axis while overcoming body and height differences with the handicapped child, thereby allowing the handicapped child to maintain a correct standing position. According to the present invention, the handicapped child wears a band-shaped shoulder girdle suit that wraps the shoulder under the arm of the handicapped child and/or a diaper-shaped pelvic girdle that wraps the groin of the handicapped child. the therapist grabs an H-shaped adjusting bar, and operates the adjusting bar and a connecting belt connecting the respective suits, thereby correctly erecting the handicapped child and inducing a asymmetric walking pattern of left and right legs to generate more repetitive and automatic walking pattern, which is a theoretical model of a center pattern generator (CPG)본 발명은 보행장애를 가진 하지마비 아동이 정상적인 보행 패턴을 습득할 수 있도록 실시하는 재활치료 과정에서 장애아동에게 올바른 기립자세를 유지시킬 목적으로 장애아동의 등 뒤에 위치하는 치료사 또는 보호자가 장애아동과의 몸의 크기와 키 차이를 극복하고 보행속도를 동일하게 일치시키고, 보행운동의 축 역시 일치시킨 후 장애아동의 보행 치료를 장애아동의 기능별 수준에 맞추어서 적절하게 실시할 수 있도록 도와주는 보행보조기구의 일종인 보행 벨트에 관한 것으로서, 장애아동의 겨드랑이 아래쪽에서 견갑대를 감싸는 띠 형상의 견갑대 슈트 및/또는 장애아동의 서혜부를 감싸는 기저귀 형태의 골반대 슈트를 착용시키고 치료사가 파지한 H자 형상의 조정바와 각 슈트를 연결하는 연결벨트를 조작하여 장애아동의 체간을 바르게 세우고 좌우 하지의 비대칭적인 보행 패턴을 유도하여 좀더 반복적이고 자동적인 보행패턴을 발생시키는 CPG(중추패턴발생기)의 이론적인 모델이 되는 장애아동용 보행벨트에 관한 것이다.
