The present invention concerns a mounting element (2) for a dental prosthesis (1), the prosthesis (1) including at least one bridge, the mounting element (2) and prosthesis (1) being formed using 3D printing. The mounting element (2) has an axis (14) of elongation and comprises an engagement portion (15), for fixedly engaging the prosthesis (1) and an attachment portion (19), for enabling secure attachment of the prosthesis (1) to the jig (6) during machining. The mounting element (2) further comprises a registration portion (17) for aligning, in use, the prosthesis (1) in a precise position and/or orientation on a jig (6) during machining. The registration portion (17) comprises a tapering portion having a conically tapering outer surface (20). A method of fabricating a dental prosthesis (1) and a dental prosthesis (1) are also disclosed.
