An apparatus for supporting sheep during shearing is disclosed. The apparatus includes lifting and rotating means, and is able to move between a first position in which it can be used to acquire a sheep and a second position suitable for holding the sheep during shearing. In the second position the rotating means allows for a sheep to be rotated about a vertical axis during shearing.
