PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation medium with chips containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer which further improves growth efficiency of crop plants, a plant cultivation device and a plant cultivation method using the medium.SOLUTION: There is provided a plant cultivation medium using chips containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, a shape of the chips is columnar, flat or flaky, and arithmetic average roughness of a side surface in columnar chips, a curved surface in a circumferential direction with a shorter direction as a central axis in flat chips, and a principal surface in flaky chips, which is measured in accordance with JIS B0601, is 0.05 &mu；m or more, and also provided a plant cultivation device and a plant cultivation method using the medium.【課題】作物の生長効率がさらに改善された、エチレン－ビニルアルコール共重合体を含むチップを用いた植物栽培用培地、並びにこれを用いた植物栽培装置および植物栽培方法を提供する。【解決手段】エチレン－ビニルアルコール共重合体を含むチップを用いた植物栽培用培地であって、前記チップの形状が柱状、扁平状またはフレーク状であり、柱状のチップにおいては側面、扁平状のチップにおいては短手方向を中心軸とした周方向の曲面、フレーク状のチップにおいては主面のＪＩＳ Ｂ０６０１に準拠して測定される算術平均粗さが０．０５μｍ以上である植物栽培用培地、並びにこれを用いた植物栽培装置および植物栽培方法。【選択図】図１
