PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope light source unit, which allows acquisition of a high-accuracy image without reducing light intensity in a specific wavelength range of illumination light composed of white light even during normal inspection, and without causing deterioration of a tip part by an unwanted thermal load by unnecessarily increasing emitted light intensity of narrow-band light so as to light a display image even during inspection with a special light, and lighting the whole image to allow high-level diagnosis.SOLUTION: The endoscope light source unit includes: a first light source section emitting illumination light composed of white light a second light source section emitting the narrowband light in a narrower wavelength band to a direction orthogonal to a direction in which the illumination light composed of white light travels a shaping lens changing one or more of a shape and a size of a light flux of the narrowband light to make them nearly equal to a shape and a size of a reflection part of a wave-combining member the wave-combining member combining waves of both the narrowband light and the illumination light composed of white light such that the narrowband light is positioned in a central part of the illumination light composed of white light and a condenser lens for converging the wave-combined light on the incident end face of a light guide such that a size of a light flux thereof nearly accords with a size of the incident end face.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】通常観察の際にも、白色照明光の特定波長域の光量を低減させることなく、特殊光観察の際にも、表示画像を明るくするために狭帯域光の出射光量を不必要に上げ、不要な熱負荷による先端部の劣化を招くことなく、高精度な画像を得ることができ、かつ画像全体を明るくすることができ、これにより、高度な診断を可能にする内視鏡用光源装置を提供する。【解決手段】白色照明光を出射する第1の光源部と、より狭い波長帯域の狭帯域光を白色照明光の進行方向と直交する方向に出射する第2の光源部と、狭帯域光の光束の形状及びサイズの少なくとも一方を変化させて合波部材の反射部の形状及びサイズと略等しくする整形レンズと、狭帯域光が白色照明光の中央部分に位置するように両光を合波する合波部材と、合波光をライトガイドの入射端面に対して、その光束のサイズが入射端面のサイズと略一致するように集光する集光レンズと、を有する内視鏡用光源装置を提供する。【選択図】図2
