PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incubator capable of reducing the work of a treating person in performing a treatment requiring illumination or a treatment without requiring illumination for a newborn baby in the incubator, and capable of suppressing the cost for constructing a medical facility.SOLUTION: In the incubator, an illumination light source 46 is fixed to the outer surface of the ceiling 26 of a newborn baby storage chamber. Accordingly, it is not necessary to position the illumination light source 46 at an appropriate position for the newborn baby storage chamber prior to the treatment requiring illumination. The other area of the illumination light source 46 than the part facing the outer surface of the ceiling 26 of the newborn baby storage chamber is shaded, and therefore, the light beam from the illumination light source 46 does not reach a newborn baby in another incubator in the vicinity of the incubator storing the newborn baby to be treated in the treatment requiring illumination after the reflection on the outer surface of the ceiling 26 of the newborn baby storage chamber, and therefore, the work for preventing the stress caused by the light from the illumination light source can be reduced.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】保育器内の新生児に照明の必要な処置や照明の不要な処置を施す際に処置者の作業が少なくてよく医療施設の建設コストも高くならない保育器を提供する。【解決手段】新生児収容室の天井26の外表面に照明用光源46が固定されている。このため、照明の必要な処置に先立って、新生児収容室に対する適切な位置に照明用光源46を毎回位置決めする必要等がない。また、照明用光源46のうちで新生児収容室の天井26の外表面との対向部以外の領域が遮光されている。このため、照明の必要な処置の対象である新生児が収容されている保育器の近傍の保育器内の新生児にまで照明用光源46からの光が新生児収容室の天井26の外表面での反射後に到達せず、照明用光源からの光によるストレスを防止するための作業が少なくてよい。【選択図】図1
