The present invention discloses a method for adapting a medical system to an object motion occurring during medical examination of said object (1) and medical system (2) configured for carrying out the method, wherein the medical system (2) comprises a system (3) for detecting and quantifying a motion of said object (1) before or during an acquisition of diagnostic data, wherein said system (3) for detecting and quantifying a motion of said object (1) is able to directly identify and qualify the occurrence of object motion and to automatically suggest an adaptation of the diagnostic data acquisition strategy/technique in function of the object motion.
