PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the noise level in a received signal dynamic range in processing received signals in an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus.SOLUTION: An estimated noise value 124 in an input range 100 is calculated based on various processing parameter values. A target noise value 120 in an output range 114 is set by a user or automatically. A conversion function 130 is set so as to pass a conversion corresponding point 128 between the upper limit 104 of a conversion target range and the upper limit of the output range 114, and a conversion corresponding point 126 between the estimated noise value 124 and the target noise value 120. The lower limit 106 of a conversion target range is set by applying the lower limit of the output range 114 to the conversion function 130, and the conversion target range 102 is set between the lower limit 106 and the upper limit 104.
