Disclosed herein is an overtube for use with an irrigation tip of a catheter during wound irrigation. The overtube includes a tubular body (104), in which a portion (106) of the tubular body is cut away and the frontend (102) of the tubular body is tapered in a direction that is away from the cut away portion (106) of the tubular body and is at an angle about 130-180 degrees in relative to the tubular body.
