A shearing hand-piece assembly 110A includes a body 120 having through-bore 121 which receives a sleeve bush 130. The bush 130 comprises a tubular member having forward end 134, rearward end 132 and a through bore. A bearing 160 is located in the bush through-bore towards the forward end of the bush. The bearing 160 is retained within the bush bore by retaining clips 170, 172. In a preferred embodiment the bush outer surface is provided with circumferential recesses 195, 197 which can receive elastomeric o-rings 191, 193 such that when assembling the hand-piece by inserting the bush into the body through-bore the o-rings are compressed and bear against the inner surface of the hand-piece body through-bore to prevent relative rotation between the bush and the hand-piece body. An inner back half joint 140 and spindle 150 are located in the through-bore of the bush allowing power transmission from a remote motor (not shown) to the shearing blades or cutters (not shown). The assembly may include second bearing 180 between the spindle 150 and back half joint 140. The bush is intended to assist in axially aligning the hand-piece components (spindle, bearings and back half joint) during assembly.
