The design innovation in the feeder is the internal "J" shape. The "J" shape is made from 34mm feeder plastic 1.6 m high or rubber conveyor belt. The use of the "J" shape stops the feed from bridging in the feeder and allows gravity to ensure that all feed is directed to the base of the "J" for the livestock to feed from. Dissecting the "J" at the front of the feeder is an adjustable gate. This gate allows the amount of feed to be reduced depending on the requirement of the animals. The feeder has an attachment which can be bolted on to reduce the consumption of the ration when it is a pure grain ration, this further restricts the flow of feed and uses the traditional lick feeding technology. The Hamilton Feeder has a weatherproof lid which pivots in the centre. The lid whilst down covers the livestock feed from becoming wet and spoiling the hay, silage or grain. The lid when up makes a backstop to guide the feed into the feeder when conveyed in by a feed mixer wagon.5 5 3 4 Figure 1
