The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating dental caries or periodontal disease caused by proliferation of oral pathogens. More particularly, the present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for prevention or treatment of dental caries or periodontal disease caused by proliferation of oral pathogens containing bamboo salt as an active ingredient, a health functional food composition for prevention or alleviation, and a composition for oral care. The composition of the present invention exhibits an excellent growth inhibitory effect against Streptococcus mutans or Streptococcus sanguinis, which are oral pathogens, and an acid production inhibitory effect by the oral pathogens. Therefore, the composition can be usefully used for preventing or treating dental caries and/or periodontal disease caused by pathogens.본 발명은 구강 병원균의 증식에 의한 치아우식증 또는 치주질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료를 위한 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 죽염을 유효성분으로 포함하는 구강 병원균의 증식에 의한 치아우식 또는 치주질환의 예방 또는 치료를 위한 약학적 조성물, 예방 또는 개선을 위한 건강기능식품 조성물, 및 구강 관리용 조성물을 제공한다. 본 발명의 조성물은 구강 병원균인 스트렙토코커스 뮤탄스(Streptococcus mutans) 또는 스트렙토코커스 상귀니스(Streptococcus sanguinis)에 대해 우수한 생육 억제효과 및 이들 구강 병원균에 의한 산 생성 억제효과를 나타내므로, 상기 병원균에 의한 치아우식증 및/또는 치주질환의 예방 또는 치료에 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
