The present invention provides a resorcinol derivative as an HSP90 inhibitor. The present invention relates to a compound represented by the formula (I) of a resorcinol derivative as an HSP90 inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound in the present invention has an activity of inhibiting the heat shock protein HSP90. Accordingly, the compounds in the present invention are used to treat proliferative diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. The present invention further provides a method for producing a compound and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound, a method for treating a disease, and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound.
