PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic which is obtained from leaves of Oryza sativa being a product of nature as the raw material, achieves excellent whitening effects and skin antiaging effects and excels in safety to living bodies and stability with time, by creating a hydrolyzate of leaves of Oryza sativa having more excellent whitening effect and skin antiaging effect and stability with time than those of the extract of leaves of Oryza sativa, and using such hydrolyzate as compounding ingredient for cosmetic.SOLUTION: There is disclosed a cosmetic containing as an effective ingredient a hydrolyzate obtained by hydrolysis treating an extract of leaves of Oryza sativa, preferably an enzymatic hydrolyzate obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis treating an extract of leaves of Oryza sativa before ear emergence with a cellulase.
