PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrocardiograph that can be easily used in various places.SOLUTION: An electrocardiograph 1 has a portable size housing 11, and a positive electrode 13, a negative electrode 15, a GND electrode 17, a liquid crystal display part 19, four LED display parts 21 (21a-21d), and an operation part 23 are arranged on its surface. The positive electrode 13 and the negative electrode 15 are capacitive coupling type electrodes capable of measuring an electrocardiographic signal even from over a garment. The surfaces are planar, and each electrode is arranged so that the surface is positioned on almost the same plane as the rear surface 11b of the housing 11.
