PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bark fiber culture soil by which barrier to growth can be reduced as much as possible with simple means and also production of the bark fiber culture soil is facilitated so as to improve production efficiency.SOLUTION: The method for producing bark fiber culture soil includes: a primary crushing step (Sa) for primarily crushing bark raw material a curing step (Sb) for piling bark fiber materials primarily crushed in the primary crushing step to cure the materials for a prescribed period of time a secondary crushing step (Sc) for secondarily crushing the bark fiber materials cured in the curing step and a fibrillation step (Sd) for fibrillating the bark fiber materials secondarily crushed in the secondary crushing step. At least at any one of a period between the curing step and the secondary crushing step, a period between the secondary crushing step and the fibrillation step, and a period after the fibrillation step, sublimed sulfur powder-mixing steps (Se1, Se2, Se3) for admixing sublimed sulfur powder to the bark fiber materials are set up so as to admix 0.45-2.7 pts.wt. of the sublimed sulfur powder to 100 pts.wt.
