PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging evaluation device and an evaluation method for an acoustic wave image which can evaluate the positioning of imaging.SOLUTION: The centroid position of a thyroid gland 51 in a plurality of ultrasonic images of the cross section of the cervical region of a subject is calculated for each ultrasonic image, and it is determined whether the difference between the centroid position and an average position is equal to or greater than a first threshold. The center position of an arteria 53 in the plurality of ultrasonic images is calculated for each ultrasonic image, and it is determined whether the difference between the center position and an average position is equal to or greater than a second threshold. When it is determined that the difference is equal to or greater than the first threshold or the difference is equal to or greater than the second threshold, it is determined that imaging of an ultrasonic image 50 is unstable.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
