PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for simply and inexpensively testing termite repellency performance of a wood or insulating material to be used in a building in a stringent condition corresponding to an actual status of use.SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for testing termite repellency performance includes a space 6 formed for confining termites, setting a test piece 2, 2 composed of a wood or an insulating material face to the space 6, and a bait 20 located at a position where the termite confined in the space 6 can arrive by advancing while giving vermin damage in the inside of the test piece 2, 2. The termites confined in the space 6 are forced to select advance by giving vermin damage in the test piece 2, 2 or to return without giving vermin damage in the test pieces 2, 2, and the termite repellency performance of a wood or insulating material to be used in a stringent condition corresponding to an actual status of use can be understood by watching the behavior of the termites in the time.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】建物に使用される木材や断熱材の防蟻性能を、実際の使用状況に即した厳しい条件下において、簡単且つ安価に把握することがきる防蟻性能試験装置を提供する。【解決手段】この防蟻性能試験装置1は、シロアリを閉じ込めるための隙間6を形成して、この隙間6に木材や断熱材等からなる試験体2、2を臨ませるとともに、隙間6に閉じ込められたシロアリが試験体2、2の内部を食害しながら進むことによって到達する位置に餌材20を配置している。隙間6に閉じ込められたシロアリは、試験体2、2の内部を食害して進むか、試験体2、2の内部を食害せずに戻るかの選択を迫られ、このときのシロアリの挙動を確認することで、実際の使用状況に即した厳しい条件下での木材や断熱材の防蟻性能を把握することができる。【選択図】図1
