This invention is a method to improve the anthocyanin content from extraction of Hibiscus sabdariffa infusion. Infusion was prepared by adding boiling reverse osmosis water to the plant material. The water solution was filtered and concentrated under vacuum, respectively. In order to remove polyphenols, which partition in ethyl acetate, the infusion concentrate was extracted by ethyl acetate. Subsequently, ethanol was added to the above infusion concentrate. The insoluble polysaccharides can be removed from this step. The final ethanol aqueous phase was concentrated on a rotator evaporator to a small volume and then freeze-dried. The extraction of this procedure gave rise to higher anthocyanin content of Hibiscus sabdariffa extract.本發明係為一種提高萃取洛神花花青素含量之方法,其係包括先以沸騰之逆滲透水煮洛神花且濃縮後得到洛神花濃縮液,再以乙酸乙酯萃取該洛神花濃縮液,藉以移除該洛神花濃縮液中能溶於乙酸乙酯的多酚類化合物以獲取一已萃取之洛神花濃縮液,加入乙醇於該已萃取之洛神花濃縮液中使多醣類析出,並進一步移除多醣類,之後即可乾燥去多醣類的洛神花濃縮液,以得到萃取含量高之洛神花花青素。
