Disclosed are alpha-axyl-beta-acsminoisoquinolinamide compounds and substituted benzamide compounds. In particular, the present invention provides compounds that affect the function of intracellular kinases and are useful as or together with therapeutic agents. The compounds of the present invention are useful in the treatment of various diseases and conditions including eye diseases such as glaucoma, cardiovascular diseases and diseases characterized by abnormal growth such as cancer. The present invention further provides a composition containing an isoquinolinamide compound.
