The device includes: an alarm module, a signal collection module, and a signal processing module, wherein the signal collection module is used for collecting human-body posture behavior data and biometrics data； the signal processing module includes a slump detection unit configured to perform analysis processing according to the human-body posture behavior data and biometrics data to judge a state of the human body, and output a help signal to the alarm module when judging that a slump occurs to the human body； and the alarm module generates and outputs help message according to the help signal. The device and method perform slump detection through the human-body posture behavior data and biometrics data, thus the behavior characteristics of the human body are considered effectively, and higher accuracy is achieved.
