A method for cultivation of plants is used in the field of bio- and nanotechnology in plant cultivation and can be used for production of high quality planting material of agricultural plants, for implementation of biotechnology research, to improve the quality of agricultural products. The method can be used in aeroponic and hydroponic technologies and also for the creation of life-support systems for astronauts under conditions of long space flight. The method for cultivation of plants comprises the seed germination and subsequent cultivation of plants on the aseptic agar nutrient medium containing a set of essential for plant growth organic and inorganic components, including iron, zinc and copper, wherein iron or zinc, or copper or a combination thereof is in the form of electro neutral metal nanoparticles. Additionally, the nutrient medium can include chitosan.
