The present invention provides a hair straightening composition with improved ease of use and reduced smoke development during the application of a straightening iron. The composition comprises at least one carboxylic acid of the formula (I) in combination with at least one polymeric thickening agent selected from non- ionic, anionic, cationic and amphoteric polymers having a viscosity of at least 500 mPa-s measured at a polymer concentration of 1% by weight, in water and at 20°C with a Brookfield viscometer: R-CO-COOH Formula (I) In further aspects, the present invention concerns a process for semi-permanent straightening of the hair, utilizing said composition, the use of the composition for straightening hair, and a kit comprising the composition and a straightening iron.La présente invention concerne une composition de lissage des cheveux ayant une facilité dutilisation améliorée et un dégagement de fumée réduit pendant lapplication dun fer à lisser. La composition comprend au moins un acide carboxylique de formule (I) en combinaison avec au moins un agent épaississant polymère choisi parmi des polymères non ioniques, anioniques, cationiques et amphotères ayant une viscosité dau moins 500 mPa-s mesurée à une concentration de polymère de 1 % en poids, dans leau et à 20 °C avec un viscosimètre Brookfield : R-CO-COOH Formule (I). Dans dautres aspects, la présente invention concerne un procédé pour le lissage semi-permanent des cheveux, au moyen de ladite composition, lutilisation de la composition pour lisser les cheveux, et un kit comprenant la composition et un fer à lisser.
