PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for stably emulsifying a carbonic diester such as ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate, or a solvent type oil and fat such as a short chain branched fatty acid polyhydric alcohol ester.SOLUTION: This emulsifier form external preparation for skin contains (1) an alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer and/or its salt, and (2) one or more esters selected from carbonic diesters and branched fatty acid (the number of carbon atoms is 4 to 10) polyhydric alcohol esters.
