[Problem] The task of hanging onions or the like for drying/storage takes time, and once hung, the onions or the like easily fall off. [Solution] A nipping tool (1) comprises a pair of nipping parts (11, 21) that extend in the same direction opposite one another and are provided with a clamping space. Upright bodies (16, 26) are formed facing the clamping space on each of the nipping sections, are furnished with holes so that the nipping sections are pressed open to the left and right to allow a plate body to be positioned in an extended manner, and serve as retention-force-increasing means formed substantially alternately relative to the holes. Preferably, the distal end (18, 28) of one of the upright bodies extends further toward the base end side than the distal end (28, 18) of the other upright body. The direction formed by the surfaces of the plate body toward the clamping space intersects the direction of extension of the clamping space, and the plate body is positioned along a section near the middle of the clamping space.
