A volatile material dispenser, comprises a drive unit (42, 114) adapted to be mounted on a container (52), wherein the drive unit is adapted to be activated in response to a signal from at least a sensor to radially displace a tilt-activated valve stem (88) of the container (52) and a flexible tube (98) having a discharge end (101) fixedly held with respect to the container, wherein the flexible tube (98) is adapted to be in fluid communication with the tilt-activated valve stem (88). The drive unit (42, 114) is activated in response to a signal from a timer, which can have operating modes provided by a switch assembly. Alternatively the drive unit (42, 114) can be activated in response to a signal from a manual actuator.
