The present utility model relates to a process of producing chitosan and a product therefrom that generate the product chitosan which is a natural biopolymer produced from exoskeletons of black soldier fly. Chitosan slows microbial activities and induces immunity of plants against microbial pests. The process of producing chitosan comprises the steps of: a. collecting exoskeletons from black soldier flies； b. washing and cleaning the collected exoskeletons； c. drying the washed and cleaned exoskeletons； d. pulverizing the dried exoskeletons； e. deproteinizing the pulverized exoskeletons； f. demineralizing the deproteinized exoskeletons； g. deacetylizing the demineralized exoskeletons； h. boiling the deacetylized exoskeletons； and i. extracting chitosan from the boiled exoskeletons.
