PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trackball device which dispenses with the removal of the trackball device from an operation panel and thus can be maintained and cleaned even by a person, other than professionals, and to provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus provided with the device.SOLUTION: The trackball device includes a first casing including a housing portion a ball rotatably housed in the housing portion in a rotatable state a detector provided in the housing portion and configured to detect input information based on rotation of the ball and a second casing, including an opening portion and mounted on the first casing to restrain the ball in the housing portion, while a part of the ball is exposed from the opening portion.
