PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a level difference and a gap at the connection part of an artificial heart pump and an artificial blood vessel and the twist and bend, etc., of the artificial blood vessel, and to suppress the generation of a thrombus.
SOLUTION: The blood vessel connection device 1 includes: an insertion cylinder member 5 provided on the side of the artificial heart pump 2 an outer cylinder member 6 to the inner peripheral part of which the end of the artificial blood vessel 3 is sutured an inner cylinder member 7 densely inserted into the inner peripheral part of the outer cylinder member 6 through the artificial blood vessel 3 and formed such that the inner peripheral surface is connected to the inner peripheral surface of the artificial blood vessel 3 without a level difference, in which the end part opposite to the side where the artificial blood vessel 3 is connected is inserted into the insertion cylinder member 5 and watertightly connected a connection member 8 for connecting the outer cylinder member 6 and the inner cylinder member 7 to the artificial heart pump 2 and distal end positioning means 9 for arranging the axial direction positions of the distal end parts of the outer cylinder member 6 and the inner cylinder member 7. The end part of the artificial blood vessel 3 is held between a blood vessel outer periphery holding surface 20 formed in the inner peripheral part of the outer cylinder member 6 and a blood vessel inner periphery holding surface 31 formed in the outer peripheral part of the inner cylinder member 7.
