PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size in the radial direction of a spool, in a sounding mechanism of a spinning reel.SOLUTION: The sounding mechanism 90 is a mechanism for sounding by the relative rotation of the spool 4 and a spool shaft 15 and is equipped with a first sounding part 91, a second sounding part 92 and an urging member 93. The first sounding part is installed in the spool shaft incapable of rotating, and has a plurality of unevenness parts 91a for sounding on the outer periphery. The second sounding part is equipped with a claw part 92a, installed in the tip end and an attaching part 93b which is formed at the base end, and which is attached to the spool so that the claw part can contact the uneven part and so as to be freely turnable about a turning shaft 98. When the spool rotates relative to the spool shaft, the claw part repeatedly makes contact with the unevenness part.
