Discloses a genetically modified mouse comprising: (a) a single rearranged human immunoglobulin V&kgr1-39/J&kgr sequence in its germline, wherein the single rearranged human immunoglobulin V&kgr1-39/J&kgr sequence is operably linked to an immunoglobulin light chain constant region sequence and (b) B cells that express a population of antibodies, wherein the population of antibodies comprises: (i) immunoglobulin light chains that each include a human immunoglobulin light chain variable domain expressed from a sequence that is identical to or is a somatically hypermutated variant of the single rearranged human immunoglobulin V&kgr1-39/J&kgr variable region sequence and (ii) immunoglobulin heavy chains that include human immunoglobulin heavy chain variable domains expressed from human immunoglobulin heavy chain variable regions including a VH1-3, VH1-46, VH1-58, VH2-26, VH2-70, VH3-21, VH3-64, VH3-72, VH3-73, or a somatically hypermutated variant thereof. Further discloses use of the mouse in making an antigen-binding protein.
