The surgical needle holder (1) according to the present invention comprises a cylindrical cannula (2) in which a surgical needle (3) is constrained along a longitudinal axis yy 'and in a substantially elongated position, said cannula (2) comprising a first end having a tapered profile (2a) to ensure the crossing of tissues and its penetration at the operating site and a second end opposite the first secured to a handle (2b), a needle push (4) introduced to the inside of the cylindrical cannula (2) and retaining means (5) for temporarily holding the needle push (4) in a predetermined position relative to said cylindrical cannula (2).
