PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper diaper which is excellent in visibility of the excretion, sense of security against leakage, waterproofness around the leg part, air permeability and absorbability.SOLUTION: The paper diaper includes an interior body 200 extending in the vertical direction around the crotch on the inner surface of the contour sheet 12 and contour sheet 12. The interior body 200 includes at least a surface sheet 30, an absorbing element 50, a liquid-impermeable back sheet 11 and a barrier cuff 60. The total light transmittance according to JIS-K-7105 of the liquid-impermeable back sheet 11 of the interior body 200 is 60% or above, and the total light transmittance according to JIS-K-7105 of the barrier cuff 60 is 45% or below.
