The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating arthritis, and more particularly, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating arthritis, which comprises COX-2, a biomarker of joint inflammation, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-Alpha) to prevent arthritis and alleviate symptoms, and to a composition for preventing and treating arthritis, which contains the same as an active ingredient. The Clostridium butyricum cells according to the present invention were found to have arthritis preventive and therapeutic effects by relieving arthritic symptoms in a concentration-dependent manner in an animal model of arthritis.본 발명은 관절염 예방 및 치료 효과를 갖는 틴달화 클로스트리디움 부티리쿰 및 이의 용도에 관한 발명으로, 보다 상세하게는 관절염증의 바이오마커인 COX-2 및 염증성 싸이토카인인 tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)의 수치를 낮춰 관절염을 예방하고 증상을 완화시키는데 기여하는 틴달화된 클로스트리디움 부티리쿰 IDCC 5101 사균체 및 이를 유효성분으로 포함하는 관절염 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 클로스트리디움 부티리쿰 IDCC 5101 사균체는 관절염 동물모델에서 농도 의존적으로 관절염 증상을 완화시켜 관절염 예방 및 치료효과가 있음을 확인하였다.
