A contoured face mask comprising a variety of lacunae for application or contouring of makeup to exposed areas of the face via a stencil or template, without the makeup smudging onto areas where it is not desired, those areas being defined by delineations of the mask created for that purpose. The mask may be single use or made of thermoplastics such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyethylene or other polymers, and may be made to suit the four common face types, typically heart, round, square or diamond face shapes, whilst a kit form with sets of lacunae relating to a system of makeup application. In use, the mask allows the user to apply a highlight using highlight make up in the area of the lacuna(e) followed by a darker contouring make up before removing the mask and blending to create the perfect contour for their face shape.
