The present invention relates to a photothermal drying apparatus and a drying method using the same wherein the photothermal drying apparatus can dry an object to be dried within a short time with low power, while preventing destruction of unique elements and maintaining flavor, by discharging moisture from the inside of the object to be dried by a scheme the same as rapid freezing by using photo-infrared-ray complex heat at high temperatures in particular. More specifically, the photothermal drying apparatus comprises: a case having an opening and closing door formed on one side； a heat storage type photothermal panel installed on a ceiling of the case； a convection device which moves air in the case； a circulation guiding member which enables convection air to be divided by the convection device and move the convection air in a certain direction； and a tray unit which is located in the case and stacks the object to be dried. Unlike a scheme using hot wind, the photothermal drying apparatus emits photo-infrared-rays at high temperatures, firstly heats the center of the object to be dried, discharges moisture, reduces the drying time, and thus can reduce the amount of power consumed.본 발명은 특히 고온의 광적외선 복합열을 이용하여 급속 동결과 같은 방식으로 피건조물의 내부에서부터 수분을 배출시켜 고유의 성분의 파괴 및 풍미를 유지하면서 짧은 시간에 걸쳐 저전력으로 건조시킬 수 있는 광열건조장치 및 광열건조장치를 이용한 건조방법에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 개폐문을 일측에 형성하는 케이스, 상기 케이스의 천정에 설치하는 축열식광열패널, 케이스의 내부에서 공기를 대류시키는 대류장치, 상기 대류장치에 의해 대류공기를 분할하고 일정한 방향으로 대류시키기 위한 순환유도부재, 상기 케이스의 내부에 위치하며 피건조물을 적재하는 트레이부로 구성하여； 열풍을 이용한 방식과 달리 고온의 광적외선 발산되도록 하여 피건조물의 중심부를 먼저 가열시켜 수분을 배출함으로써 건조시간을 단축시켜 전력소비량을 절감할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
